Aloha VIP, thank you for the Carcar Family site. My name is Darlene (Anguay) Makaiwi. Anguay is the family name that I’m working on and do not see it on the list of Carcaranons. I’ve done my geneology, as far as I can go and that is with Petrona Anguay. I link up with the Paraz, dela cerna, Alcoseba, Aldemita. I remember when we were young, my dad and his family say that Anguay was not our orignal name. I do not want to offend anyone,but was told that Gantuagco was.(NOT PROVEN!!!} but really want know. If anyone knows?????????? Quinten Anguay married Maria Paraz and moved to Hawaii. All of the Anguay’s in Hawaii come from that line.

aloha, darlene. the starting person in my anguay file is also petrona (natural de surigao) and her children vicente and agustina. if there’s any truth to the gantuangco story, it must have been petrona’s partner because for both children, the parents were padre no conocido y (and) petrona anguay. which brings me to the name. if petrona’s name was anguay, even if her children were the illegitimate children of any gantuangco, they would still only rightfully be entitled to the anguay name, because they were illegitimate.

That would make sense,if her name was Anguay and no father mentioned for children.Guess still need to search more for beforePetrona. What does it mean”natural de surigao”. natural de surigao means native of or born in surigao. i do not have the births for vicente and agustina but only got the latter from the baptism of a child of hers (also pnc), esteban anguay in 8-aug-1868 in carcar. the record said the grandmother was petrona. where and when was eugenio baptized?

Eugino was bapt. 19 Nov 1853 in Carcar. He had a daughter Vicenta Anguay bapt7 Apr 1881, Mother : —- Reimundo, ca’nt read the first name. What was Agustina’s husband’s name?
